“ASSEMBLYMAN
CONTE HELPS BOY SCOUTS RECEIVE
THEIR
CITIZENSHIP MERIT BADGES”

Assemblyman Jim Conte (R,I,C,WF- Huntington
Station) recently spoke with Boy Scout Troop 218 of
South Huntington about voting, lawmaking and the responsibilities
of being a citizens in a democracy. To receive a Citizens
Merit badge, Boy Scouts must contact an elected representative
and express their ideas for changing laws. Assemblyman
Conte showed a video entitled "How An Idea Becomes
A Law" which explains the legislative process
in Albany and how everyday citizens can effect change
in their government
