:: I am proud to serve as your representative in the State Assembly where I have continued to fight to make Long Island a more affordable place to live while enacting real changes to provide for the growing needs of our community. Over the past year, I have been successful in passing stronger laws against pedophiles to keep Long Island’s children and families safer, increasing STAR rebates for middle class families to help offset rising property taxes, and reforming the state’s archaic Workers’ Compensation system to provide needed relief to Long Island’s businesses. However, now is not the time to rest on our past successes and I look forward to bringing real and lasting change to Albany in order to help alleviate the financial squeeze that so many in our community are facing.

:: My focus in running for re-election to the Assembly is to reduce Long Island’s skyrocketing property tax burden. Although I’m proud that I helped create and pass the original STAR program, I realize that more needs to be done to achieve lasting tax relief. That’s why I am supporting the NEW YORK STATE TAXPAYERS PROTECTION ACT, legislation designed to give homeowners long-term property tax relief by increasing state aid to schools, shifting costs from local governments to the state and capping property taxes. While there are other issues to address, I believe we must fight to help residents afford the American Dream of homeownership so that current and future generations are able to call Long Island home. You have my solemn pledge to do just that.
